New Year's Traditions

This was the third year that our neighbors met at Campioni's for a New Year's Eve meal.  The kids love Campioni's because they have great bubble gum/toy machines.  Specifically they seek "squishies".  Little rubber creatures that cost 50 cents and generate hours of play.  You just can't beat that! We brought our friend Erin with us this year.

Nicole and Amy (and Ellie) are chatting each other up.  Winter is tough in our neck of the woods.  We see our neighbors everyday in the summer and then winter comes and we have to catch up every chance we get.

This is the New Year's Eve cake that I made.  After we have dinner we reconvene at someone's house and bring in the New Year.  Although this year I think we only made it to 10:30pm.

This is our traditional New Year's Day meal.  Letcho.  We love it!  John could eat it for days (he usually does).  It is a traditional meal from his parents.  I believe it is Hungarian.
